Traveler's Notebook :: 3 Random Things

I thought it might be interesting to do a little snapshot of where I am right now so that I can look back at the end of the year as see how much has changed (hopefully!). And the BY THE NUMBERS stamp set from Citrus Twist was perfect for it! I used a few bits and pieces from the Sugarland Pocket Life kit too, including a vintage book page!

Five Favourite Things :: Week 52

I decided the last week of the year was the perfect opportunity for another attempt at my challenge series, Five Favourite Things! I started by choosing an old 6x6 pad and then picked all my other supplies to co-ordinate with that. It ended up being like a little mini kit!

Join me in this challenge and create a project using the following 5 things:
  • a 6x6 paper pad
  • letter stickers
  • a stamp set
  • sequins
  • thread!

Project Life :: Week 51

When it comes to photo taking, I tend to go from one extreme to the next. Last week I had barely any photos and this week I had too many. But NONE of them were horizontal so I had to come up with a different plan.

I printed out all the photos as 3x4 or little squares and then I used all the prettiest 3x4 cards from Citrus Twist to fill in the gaps. You'll even see a fair amount of journalling this week (for me anyway!).

Project Life :: Week 50

I used the gorgeous new Sugarland pocket life kit from Citrus Twist this week and I have all the heart eyes for this kit. It took forever to arrive but was completely worth the wait!

I had very few photos this week, apart from ones I was already using in my December Daily album, so I used an enlargement and a filler card.

OLW :: January

In order to keep myself a little bit more accountable this year (ie, trying not to crash and burn by March!), I've decided to film and upload my process and response to the monthly prompts.

Hopefully, this way, you can keep me on task. And I always tend to do better with a schedule!

This year, instead of an album (and I do have one sitting there virtually empty from last year!), I've decided to use one of my favourite Pocket Page Notebooks. I'm hoping this will be a less intimidating and a more free-form way to do it. I can add pages and journalling whenever I feel like it, as well as doing my monthly prompts in there. And if I run out of room, I can just add another page to the amazing fabric TN cover I got from The Stamp Spot too.

So as well as filling out all the journalling prompts for this month, I added a few digital elements, a vellum photo of myself and I hand-stamped my BALANCE quote with this stamp set from Feed Your Craft.

So here is my process for these January pages...

Five Favourite Things :: Week 49

I am determined to start using up some of my stash this year so I am starting a new challenge series, Five Favourite Things! This week, I used five lovely things from my stash and completed a page of Project Life, but you could easily create a TN page, a traditional layout or any other project that takes your fancy.

Join in the challenge and create a project using the following 5 things:

  • a 6x6 paper pad
  • puffy stickers
  • a stamp set
  • an embossing folder
  • tags!

Finished Traveler's Notebook walk-through

I've finished a couple more inserts this week, so I thought I'd show you through them before I pop them on the shelf ...

Project Life :: Week 48

I used Brandi's amazing new digitals for this week's spread. Some of them needed a tiny bit of altering to suit my already-printed photos, but that is SO easy to do. Add a bit of stamping and some journalling and I'm done in less than 30 minutes!

December (not quite) Daily :: Finished!

And I'm done! 2017 December Daily is done and dusted and I've loved it just as much as every other year.

I definitely didn't work on this album daily, but I have still filled up the whole album with bits and pieces of our December.

Most of my pages have process videos (which you can find here), but some of them didn't and they might be some of my favourites! I spent a whole day finishing up my album, filling in gaps and adding in the last few days.

I usually do the whole month, right up to New Years Eve, but this year I was ready to be done after Christmas. Something in me really wanted to have this project wrapped up and out of my head before the new year began.

So, here is the walk-through of my completed album...

December (not quite) Daily :: Happy, Santa & Pixie Town

I spent the best part of yesterday finishing up my December Daily album. And although I did not do this project on a daily basis, I've still ended up with a completely full album that I love.

The reason I've managed to complete this album is that, like always, I kept it as simple as it needed to be at the time. On the days when I felt like going overboard, I did. And on the days when I just wanted to get the story in the book, like these day, it is exactly what I did. Photos, stickers, journalling, done.

Project Life :: Week 47

I'm in catch up mode now with Project Life. With less than a week until the end of 2107, I'd really like to get my album done and dusted and ready to start fresh with next years album.

This means keeping things super simple! Which, this week, meant stamping instead of journalling and a little sequin filler pocket to brighten things up a bit.

December (not quite) Daily :: Snapchat, lights & cherries

With only a few hours until Christmas day, I'm busy filling in a few spaces in my album. And I don't mind keeping things a bit simpler to make sure this album is done by the end of the month.

None of these stories are huge moments, nor did they require much (if any) journalling, but they are all important little parts of my December. And as such, they were the perfect stories to fill up spaces in my album.

December (not quite) Daily :: Parks, mugs and Scrooge

We spent an afternoon hanging out in the sunshine at a park, which wasn't how we had intended to spend the time but it was well worth it! All I added to this huge 8x12 photo, was some banners, some journalling and, yes, some sequins!

For this page, I had already put together this 6x4 card from my December Dreams collection, by printing it out and adding some stickers, dots and some washi tape. I peeled some of the washi off, added a photo and created a see-through pocket with some journalling and a few more stickers.

I had already created this 3x4 filler card with a chipboard frame, some ribbon and some Kellie Stamps. But then I wasn't really sure where to go from there. This was to fill in the back side of a page protector – hence why I am trying so hard to try to make what is clearly two 6x4s fit into all these little 3x4 spaces!

Traveler's Notebook :: Cuddled Up

I'm over on the Citrus Twist blog today sharing a technique for creating a simple page using a lot of one thing. I hope you'll take a look!

Project Life :: Week 46

This was a little bit of a shit week, so I am shocked at how colourful and cheery it looks! It probably has something to do with the fact that I had taken barely any photos until the weekend when I forced myself to have a brighter outlook on life.

I picked out all the blue and pink bits from the Studio Calico Homestead Documenter kit and then created a hiding spot for all that not-so-great journalling. A bunch of puffy stickers and I called it a day (or week!).

Here is how this week's spread came together...

December (not quite) Daily :: Shopping & Selfies

I hadn't intended to buy any more ornaments this year, but I ended up with six! So they definitely needed a page to themselves. I added some papers from the Fa la la collection as well as some festive paper clips and some glitter alphas and called it done.

My favourite shopping time of the year is December, so I had to celebrate with a selfie in front of a very festive window. That went straight into the back of the page protector with no embellishment at all. Then I created a transparency page with gold stars and tags for my journalling.

Pocket Page Notebook :: We Are Magic

Clearly, it is no wonder I love taking selfies. It must run in my family! These two are always up for a selfie which makes a nice change from people running away as soon as the camera comes out!

I used another older Studio Calico documenter kit this time, I'm loving finding ways to use up these journal cards. This one was perfect for my title for this page.
